It starts with me

Here’s what I know for sure. It’s starts with me. I can’t change the world around me unless I serve myself first. If I am well I touch the people in my life differently and that ripples outward. Thinking about the state of the world gets heavy, overwhelming. So I take a step back and serve myself. Radical self care until I’m in such alignment with my soul I show up differently in the world. More authentically, masks shed. Real. This is how I create a different world.

I can’t do it all on my own, I'm a householder. I need the support of my husband. I’ve not always allowed him to support me. I’ve fought hard for my independence, I’ve been angry I needed help and felt sorry for myself. But that resistance only made for hard work. Then I remembered that he and I have a soul contract in place. We came together to support each other as spiritual beings to make decisions unencumbered by any outside influences or pressures. To enable each other to seek joy. It’s not always fun and games, it’s messy and uncomfortable, triggering and hard conversations need to be had. It’s the only way to move into alignment with ourselves and then with each other. Into supportive, nurturing, intimate, service to each other. But it starts with us individually first. It feels like a system that feeds itself, an organic lifecycle we have created. Because we serve each other we are able to serve our children, our loved ones our community with every decision we make. It all has a ripple effect. Each of us serving in our own unique way. We both have wounds to heal and have sought out the appropriate healers, support people and techniques to unearth and alchemies what needs to be so we can continue this human journey in service.
We are not perfect, but we are “perfectly imperfect” as Brene Brown so beautiful describes it. Eager to be the best versions of ourselves for each other and for this world we live in. It comes with the whole range of emotions and growing pains. We experience anger, frustration, sadness, joy, love, intimacy sometimes all with in the same minute. We feel it all and we see it all, layer by layer. Our decisions don’t always align with everyone else, but they don’t need to. Our decisions only need to serve each of us and then we can each anchor in a bit more of what we want this world to be. Each of us a true creative force.
So my question for you today and everyday is; How are you serving yourself? I hope you spend this season serving yourself to new depths. I hope you ask for the support you need and create the most beautiful life for yourself and your loved ones. This is how we call in the new earth, this is how we shed the systems that have entrapped us into thinking there is only one way to live. Step outside of the box, create your life your way. I’m sending you so much love and supporting you every step of the way my dear one.
